M. THOENNES PHOTOGRAPHY

I am Megan Thoennes and I am the sole owner and operator of M. Thoennes Photography. I am a photographer based out of Moorhead, MN that specializes in newborn, milestone, family, maternity, seniors and couples photography. I started photography in 2014, when my first child was born. I bought a camera and decided to start taking pictures of my own family. That blossomed into photographing friends and their families, then exploded into a full blown business, ultimately leading me to the crazy journey where I am today.

I answer to many names...wife, momma, sister, nurse, and photographer. As a photographer of young children and a momma with 3 littles of my own, I understand how stressful family photos can sometimes feel. Finding outfits, dressing the kids and hauling them to an area just to say "cheese". While I feel that there is a time and a place for posed/looking directly at the camera photos, a large portion of my session time is not this. I focus more on in the moment, candid and prompted family photography, creating natural expressions of love and laughter. Whether you are just beginning your family or are wanting to continue to capture your family's growth, allow me the honor of photographing your family in this journey called life.
